We have no influence neither on the type nor the scope of the data processed by LinkedIn. We do not gain full access to such collected user data or any user profiles. We can only access public profile information. Which information you share publicly can be adjusted via your LinkedIn settings. In addition, you can actively hide your reactions to a post or unfollow the page via the LinkedIn settings. LinkedIn collects personal data of the user, e.g. via cookies. Such collection of user data by LinkedIn can also occur even if the user is not logged in or registered at LinkedIn. Those statistics are used to steadily improve our LinkedIn online content and to better respond to the interests of our users. We cannot link statistical data with the profiles of our LinkedIn followers.

We only receive personal data via LinkedIn, if you actively transmit your data by sending a personal LinkedIn message. We use this data (e.g. name, surname) to respond to your query.

6. Facebook

We aim to regularly inform you about current developments of the project by using the social network Facebook, operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to as “Facebook”. Please note that you use this service and its functions on your own responsibility. This applies in particular to the use of interactive functions (e.g. like, share, comment).

We have no influence neither on the type nor the scope of the data processed by Facebook. We do not gain full access to the data collected by Facebook or to individual user profiles. We can only view information that is publicly available on Facebook. You can control which information you share publicly via your Facebook account settings. In addition, you can actively hide your interactions with posts or unfollow our page via Facebook settings at any time.
Facebook collects personal data from users, for example through the use of cookies. Such data collection may also take place if users are not logged in to Facebook or do not have a Facebook account.   • Engagement: information about likes, comments, shares, and other interactions with our content

These statistics are used to continuously improve our Facebook content and to better address the interests of our users. We are not able to link this statistical information to individual Facebook user profiles.
We only receive personal data via Facebook if you actively provide it to us, for example by sending a private message via Facebook Messenger. In this case, we use the transmitted data (e.g. name and message content) solely to respond to your enquiry.

Processing by Meta:

Facebook alone is responsible for any further processing of your data, including possible transfers to the United States. Facebook may use your data for its own purposes, such as:

PURPOSES FOR THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

Processing of photographs, audio-visual recordings, short profiles, citations, contact details (such as name, surname, e-mail address) within the communication strategy of WINGS-4-FGS

  • Processing on project-related websites that run under the responsibility of P04-EURICE
  • Processing on communication materials (print, audio-visual and digital), such as flyers, leaflets, e-newsletters and video clips
  • Processing on project-related Social Media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook) to inform about project activities
  • Processing for the provision of project-related information to relevant stakeholders and media in the context of project communication activities of P04- EURICE (such as the distribution of press releases, initiation of TV & radio interviews, networking activities)

For this purpose, your personal data might be processed and stored on the Project Management Tool. In this context, the data will be transferred to those persons that need them to fulfil their contractual obligations (e.g. Project Manager of the project). In addition, please note that the Project Management Tool is hosted by millepondo services GmbH & Co. KG, a German software provider located in Cologne. A Data Processing Agreement according to Article 28 GDPR was signed between EURICE and millepondo services GmbH & Co. KG.

TRANSMISSION TO A THIRD COUNTRY OR INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION

Please note that your personal data is being transferred to Switzerland and UK. The processing of personal data in Switzerland will take place on the basis of the Commission Decision of 26 July 2000. The processing of personal data in the United Kingdom will take place on the basis of the Commission Decision of 28 June 2021. Such Decisions confirm that the countries situated outside the EU offer an adequate level of data protection.

Some of the project partners and the Associated Partner involved in “WINGS-4-FGS” are located in countries outside the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA), for which no adequacy decision under Article 45 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been issued (in Ghana, Rwanda, Côte d’Ivoire, Malawi, Madagascar, Democratic Republic of the Congo). This means that the data protection laws may not provide a level of protection equivalent to that within the EU.

Where possible, we avoid the transfer of personal data to these countries by using EU-based servers and by sharing only anonymised or pseudonymised datasets.

If a transfer of personal data is nevertheless required for the execution of the project and no Standard Contractual Clauses can be concluded due to legal or administrative limitations, such transfers are based on your explicit consent (Art. 49 (1)(a) GDPR), one of the derogations of Article 49 GDPR.

In these cases, there is a risk that your personal data may be accessed by public authorities in those countries without comparable legal remedies being available, there may be no supervisory authority and/or no data processing principles in place and/or that the data subjects in the third country may not have any data protection rights.

The transmission of your data is not repeated, mass or structural and is carried out according to the tasks established within the Grant Agreement and Consortium Agreement.

In order to reach broader public and to promote our project activities we also use the services of LinkedIn and Facebook, whose servers are situated outside the EU.

In the context of the use of social media accounts, we are controllers within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR together with

  • LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland, for the operation of our LinkedIn profiles
  • Facebook Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Irland, a company of Meta Platforms, Inc. 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA

Please note that data on the Internet can be accessed anywhere in the world, including in unsecure third countries where there is no adequate level of data protection. We therefore expressly point out that digital images, for example on our website, can be accessed worldwide and that further use by third parties cannot be ruled out.

Please note that our project websites are also accessible to search engines. You must therefore expect that your name and image may also be found by search engines or accounts of third-parties.

Content can also be searched for and reshared on social media services. The providers of the relevant social media services are primarily responsible for this.

DURATION OF STORAGE

Periods for retention result from the applicable Horizon Europe provisions. In accordance thereto, the data must be retained for up to five years after receipt of the project’s final payment, according to Art. 18.1 GA Art. 20.1 GA and theWINGS-4-FGS Data Sheet, Point 6 Horizon Europe.

WHICH DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS DO I HAVE?

Each individual has the right to withdraw consent in accordance with Art. 7 (3) GDPR, the right of access in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR, the right to rectification in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR, the right to erasure (right to be forgotten) in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, the right to restriction of processing in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, the right to data portability in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR as well as the right to object in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR. Limitations in accordance with §§ 34 and 35 of the German Federal Data Protection Act apply to the right to access and the right to erasure. In addition, individuals have a right to lodge complaints with the data protection supervisory authority about the processing of personal data by us. (Art. 77 GDPR in conjunction with § 19 BDSG).
