UFHB has extensive experience in large-scale international collaborative research, contributing to clinical trials and major multi-country projects.
Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny (UFHB) is participating in the design of the study protocol and manuals, as well as all aspects of data collection. This includes implementing community surveys to assess population knowledge about FGS and raising awareness at multiple levels (health care workers, communities, etc.). It also includes assessing the feasibility of a community-based FGS diagnostic procedure to facilitate management. In addition, UFHB will participate in participant recruitment to evaluate the efficacy and safety of anti-inflammatory drugs combined with praziquantel, aiming to introduce a new approach to the management of FGS-associated morbidity. UFHB will collaborate with national and local health authorities to build the capacity of health professionals and assess barriers and facilitators to the integration of FGS management into existing health services. UFHB will finally contribute to communication and dissemination of the study results.
